The existing terrace for this otherwise stately New Jersey home was unspectacular at best. The clients desired a new terrace that would introduce some badly needed interest to the rear entrance of the property, in keeping with the grand style of the home.

Liquidscapes created a water feature design including a long reflection pond with wide bluestone coping doubling as a walkway to the rear entry of the home. Formal statuary adorns one end of the reflecting pool and a dark plaster finish enhances the reflective quality of the water surface. Dry lay bluestone borders decorative brick pattern inlays that form the decking between the pond and the house.

Opposite the house, shrub and perennial masses are planted below shade trees to span the entire length of the now dramatic terrace.

This beautifully serene custom water garden design demonstrates once more that drastic site alteration is not a requirement of successful design.
